「Special Committee for Creating Sustainable Jobs and the Future Generations」 (hereinafter referred to as the Special Committee) under the wing of the Economic, Social & Labor Council held the 10th plenary session in the Cham- ber on Oct. 16, 2024 to make the resolution of the establishment and composition of The Advisory Council.
▲ Regarding industrial shift out of the four agenda, the Special Committee agreed to establish a conference system and discuss it. ▲Regarding resolving unfair disparities, ▲ reinforcing flexible stability and active labor markets, and ▲ the labor-management relations through dialogue and compromise, the special Committee agreed to establish the Advisory Council within the committee to discuss agenda in depth.
Also, the Special Committee decided to establish another conference and research council, under the theme titled 'Platform Labor' and 'AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Labor.' The corresponding agenda were discussed in the meeting between the leaders of the tripartite members that was held on the last Oct. 4, 2024.
The Advisory Council held the 1st plenary session on Oct. 23, 2024, with a total of 11 persons including the tripartite members, public interest commissioners, and others, putting Kim Dug-ho, the SG of the ESLC, in charge of the Chairman. The Council is scheduled to hold meetings every week by the end of January, once period of operation of the Special Committee is extended, with the beginning of discussing agenda in depth, and to consider holding workshops if necessary, and report the discussion results of the Special Committee, in the plenary session.
Taking charge of the Chairman of The Advisory Council, Kim Dug-ho, the SG of the ESLC, said, “All the tripartite members recognize the serious structural problems with labor markets and they decided to have in-depth and swift discussions,” and delivered the message, “The Advisory Council will do its best to undertake its role as the provider of clue to the agreements between the tripartite members.”
